Hidimba Parvat is a lush green beautiful hill situated at the 5km from the Bhimtal and the name of this originated from the Hidimba, wife of the Bhima from the famous Mahabharata. This parvat is also a house of Vankhandi Ashram. The monk also made a shelter for the conservation of wild animals who residing on the Hidimba Parwat
Located on the Nainital-Haldwani route, Hanuman Garhi is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The place has very big statue of Lord Hanuman and replica of Ma Vaishno Devi Gufa. The place is located on Naukchiatal lake road from Bhimtal. Perched atop 6,401 ft. high, the temple was built by a local saint Baba Neem Karoli in 1950 and is located close to Ashram of Bapu Lila Sah and Shitla Devi temple. The idol of Lord Hanuman is portrayed as splitting his chest, depicting that Lord Ram resides in his heart. The view of the rosy sky during sunset and sunrise is what attracts tourists to Hanuman Garhi.
This museum is a must visit place of Bhimtal. Popularly known as ‘Lok Sanskriti Sangrahalaya’, this private museum was founded by Dr. Yashodhar Mathpal in 1983 and presents valuable artifacts and a treasure of old photographs. The museum became set up with the primary goal of upkeep of neighborhood subculture, documentation of oral and written traditions and provision of presenting schooling on vanishing arts and crafts of the vicinity if you need recognize about Uttarakhand people culture one must visit.
The Butterfly Research Centre is located on a hillock near the Bhimtal lake and houses the fourth largest butterfly and moth reference collection in India. The collection is housed in a 150-year-old colonial bungalow in the Jones Estate. Of the approximately 1,300 species of butterflies to be found in India (mostly concentrated in the northeastern states), Bhimtal has around 240 species.It is clear that Bhimtal is a butter lover’s paradise.
